Assembly
The assembly of the frame and all components is done in Rennes, in our workshop.
Protective Tarpaulin
The protective cover for the front box of the Formidable is made in ESAT near Rennes.
Seats and front box
The front bench seat and the front body are made in the Rennes region.
Wheel assembly
The wheels of the Formidable are assembled in La Guerche de Bretagne.
Connected Kit
The Formidable connected kit, along with its “Galian” application, is designed and manufactured near Nantes.
Doors
The design and production of many elements of the Formidable are carried out in La Suze sur Sarthe.
Transmission Group
The transmission group
(Engine, Monitor and Battery) was designed and is produced by Valeo near Lyon.
Aluminum frame
The frame is welded in Occitanie by our partner MILC in La Barthe-de-Neste (65).
Why produce in France?
The Galian project is part of a relocation logic for many reasons:
Reducing carbon footprint
Producing a bicycle in France means reducing the distance between each producer and assembler by several thousand kilometers. It also means using electricity produced in France, mainly by nuclear power plants, whose greenhouse gas emissions are significantly lower than those of coal-fired power plants (0.006 vs. 0.243 kgCO2e/kWh).
Production and deadline control
Working with French companies to manufacture our bikes allows us to order components in reasonable quantities while respecting an optimized schedule. Thanks to this proximity, Galian can offer fully customized cargo bikes without increasing lead times.
Reduced risk of theft or loss of goods
Producing a bicycle in France means controlling the logistics flows of each component. Choosing local suppliers helps avoid the risks of theft , blockage or loss of goods often associated with long journeys by container ship.
Inventory reduction
For a reasonably sized production like Galian's, there's no need to import entire containers of bicycle components from abroad. Producing locally limits inventory, warehousing, and associated costs.
